Summary
George Murphy stars as Johnny Demming, a successful Broadway musical comedy producer who's looking for a star for his new show. When he meets glamorous film star Helen Hoyt, he's so taken with her, he offers her the part. But Helen is in desperate need of a hit herself and turns him down when she reads his script, saying he could do much better. Meanwhile, Johnny's father, a retired vaudevillian, has plans to stage his own show. He enlists daughter Patsy and soon Helen signs on, too, which complicates her increasing attachment to Johnny. Loosely adapted from the musical Very warm for May, retaining only one song from its score
