Summary
In 1938 pre-World War II Florence, Italy, fascism and political tensions are quickly rising. Trouble ensues when a vacationing beautiful British widow experiences an uncharacteristic moment of passion that leads to violence and tragedy. Caught in a web of fear and confusion, she turns to a dashing, rogue American expatriate for the help she so desperately needs. While the English beauty and the rakish, yet charming American learn to place their trust in one another, unanticipated sparks fly. During the cover-up the unlikely pair deny to themselves that they are actually falling in love
