"In this animated tale of love and loss set to the backdrop of the French Revolution, unsuccessful English barrister Sydney Carton becomes enamored with the beautiful Lucie Manette. Lucie, however, is in love with the wealthier Charles Darnay. Lucie ultimately marries Darnay and remains ignorant to Sydney's feelings. Soon, however, Darnay is accused of spying against England and is sentenced to die by the guillotine. Sydney decides that it is his responsibility to free the husband of the woman he loves, and takes it upon himself to do just that."--container
