Summary
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983, are an American alternative rock band who blend traditional rock and funk with various elements of punk rock and psychedelic rock. The current lineup vocalist Anthony Kiedis, guitarist John Frusciante, bassist Michael "Flea" Balzary, and drummer Chad Smith has been together for the bulk of the bands history. The band has experienced several changes of personnel, sold fifty million albums worldwide, had eight singles in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and have won seven Grammy Awards. This captures them in top form, during the European leg of 2003's "By the Way" tour
